With mixed feelings after 10 years, I went home for a vacation. Despite the fact, the vacation was short; I fully enjoyed it. It was just enough time for us to discover the city after all these years, spend some time with our family, enjoy fresh flavorful food and share some laughs. I want to keep this post simple and I will just leave you with some photos.
Το Aleppo With Love – Zardeh

Zardeh a sort of sweet pudding from rice that is characterized by the flavor of saffron. In the past, this sweet was served on special occasions in Aleppo, specifically at wedding. the Aleppine proverb says “No more Zardeh after wedding” “من بعد العرس ما في زردة”, because it has good amount of sugar. It is also popular in Iran and Iraq.

Eid Al-Adha, Sweets – 2019

Eid Al-Adha “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid”, Eid Al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar. It is celebrated all around the world, where people families visit, kids are given money, and Eid sweets are served to well-wishers and relatives. And like each year this post is about the sweets I prepared for Eid.

Eid Al-Adha – 2019

Eid Al-Adha “Festival of Sacrifice” or “Greater Eid”, Eid Al-Adha annually falls on the 10th day of the month of Dhul Hijja of the lunar Islamic calendar. The festivities last for three days or more depending on the country. Eid Al-Adha occurs the day after the pilgrims conducting Hajj, the annual pilgrimage to Mecca in Saudi Arabia by Muslims worldwide, descend from Mount Arafat.
